Melbourne is the capital of the Australian state of Victoria, on Australia’s southeastern coast. In the city center lies the urban development area of Federation Square, with plazas, bars and restaurants on the Yarra River.

In the Southbank area, the Melbourne Art Precinct houses the Arts Centre Melbourne, a complex dedicated to the performing arts, and the National Gallery of Victoria, which exhibits Australian and Aboriginal art.
