Paris is named as ‘City of Lights More than 5 crore people visit Paris every year. Paris is that European City where, you get delicious food and you can enjoy various activities over here. Number of tourists visiting Paris are increasing every year. Today I am going to clear all your queries on how you can travel to Paris. Hello, I am Dr. Anuj Bansal and welcome to Anuj Bucket. Today I will be explaining you the complete travel guide of Paris. You heard right, in this video we will find out how we can tour Paris. We will begin this video with -ABOUT PARIS This segment will include Paris Geography, History and best time to visit Paris. Then we will talk about transportation in Paris, We will discuss the flight ticket charges for Paris, and other modes to commute inside Paris. Then we will talk about France Visa Documentations. It is situated on the banks of Seine River. Banks of Seine are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Estimated population of Paris is around 2.1 Million. According to the census of 2019. Paris is spread across an area of 105sqkm. Paris is the 34th most densely populated city in the world. Paris comes in the Ile-de-France region. The population of Ile de France is 12 Million i.e 1.2 Cr. people Speaking of the History of Paris, The history of Paris dates back to 2000 years back. Paris was a major city of the world since the 17th Century. France was famous for World’s Finance, Diplomacy, Commerce, Fashion, Gastronomy and Science. Paris has a major role in World Development. Paris has taken forward the legacy of romance. Paris is also known as the City of Light and City of love. Let’s talk about the best time to visit Paris If you want to tour Paris, what will be the best months for you? Tourists visit Paris in all months, but The climate chart of Paris form May to Sep looks like this: Thus most no. of tourists visit at this time. During this time, the weather is not too cold and you can travel easily. The weather is good from Oct-Dec, This is the season of Christmas. Many tourists visit during this time. The weather is very cold from Jan to April and is considered to be an off-season. Yet, many tourists visit at this time too. I would suggest you to travel Paris from May to September. To know more about Paris, we must be aware of its Map. So, Let’s understand its map. Paris is the Capital of Europe’s most famous country France. Paris has a circular shape. Most of the Paris Attractions are in this circular shape. Some of its attractions are outside this circular boundary. Paris can be officially divided into 6 zones. The major attractions fall under 1, 2 and 3 zone Outside this area, is considered to be Paris Reason As we know most of the attractions, fall under 1,2 and 3 zones. I would suggest you to book your hotel in zone 1, 2, or 3 as well. You will be well-connected with all the attractions through the Paris Metro. We will provide more information about metro later in this video. Now we will talk about transportation in Paris and modes of commuting. If you stay outside Europe, we will suggest you to travel by flight. If you want to go to Paris by flight it has 3 Airport, Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais. So you will land on one of these airport. If you are traveling from India to Paris by flight, here’s the procedure for it. Go to Google, type Google Flights. Google flights web page looks like this, it’s the best way you can check the rates of flights. For eg; we are travelling from New Delhi to Paris, Type New Delhi to Paris, enter your preferred date. On the website you will find different prices from lowest to the highest. The Cheapest flight from New Delhi to Paris is on 30th Sept. costs around 52000 INR, and you will return by the 4th of October. Here’s a suggestion while booking the flight tickets; If you book your tickets 2-3 months before your journey, you will get good ticket fares. We are making this video in Sept. 2022. 30th September return flight cost us 52K INR. If we book the tickets for the same journey in November Then, the ticket will cost us around 40K INR. So it’s better to book tickets before 2-3 months for a cheaper rate. On the same website, click on Explore, After clicking explore, you can see nearby airports to Paris. If you get a better option you can book tickets to nearby airport and reach Paris by car or train. Only if, you save money. Now we will discuss IntraCity Transportation. The most successful mode of transport in Paris is the Paris Metro. The Paris Metro is spread across 6 zones of Paris, from the main city to the outskirts, i.e Paris Region. Paris Metro has 300 stations. It is one of the oldest Metros of the world. You can take the help of Google Maps to travel in Paris. Paris Metro’s one ride will cost 1.9 Euros or you can also purchase a Paris Day pass. To travel Intracity we will buy 1 single ticket that will cover all public transport like; Metro, Bus, and Tram can be used for Unlimited times throughout the day. The metro card for Zone 1-3 costs 13.2 Euro per day and for zone 1-5 it costs 27.8 Euros. So, we bought a one-day Travel ticket for 13.2 Euros. You can also hire an electric scooter or electric cycle on rent, We used "Tier App" to hire Electric Scooters. You have to log in to the Tier App. Tier App is Spread across many European Countries If you want to hire an Electric Scooter in Paris, On the App, you can see all the Parking lots for electric scooters. Just go to your nearby Parking lot, select a scooter, and after selecting the scooter, you can see the Distance Range remaining in the scooter. You can also check the price of the scooter or buy a day pass. In a day pass you have to pay a fixed amount to ride unlimited times throughout the day. This is how the Tier App works. Now we will discuss the Visa for France, i.e. Schengen Visa. First, we will understand what is Schengen visa. Schengen Visa is a visa for short stay in European Countries. This Visa allows tourists to travel in Schengen Regions. If you want to Apply for Schengen Visa from India, you can apply only from VFS Global VFS stands for Visa Facilitation Services Global. VFS Global charges you a fee and transfers all your documents and Visa Application to the Embassy. You can apply for Visa, from your nearby VFS Global Office. To apply for a tourist visa from VFS Global, India Has 13 VFS application Centres, look at the list. How to Apply for VFS application online? 1st step is to go to VFS Global website, Select your Country, Also, select the country you are travelling too, i.e France. Click on ‘Take me to the website’ You will be taken to VFS Global France Website. Here you can start to fill out your Visa Application. Click on Apply for Visa, Start Now. We will talk about ‘Book Appointment and ‘Optional Services’ later in the video. After clicking on Start Now, It takes us to a page that shows how you can apply for Visa in 7 steps. 1. Identify your visa type- Short Stay for less than 90 days. The next step is to Begin your Application, In this process, you will fill out a form on how and when you are travelling. After filling out the form submit your original, required documents, The next step is to book an appointment, select the date for an appointment after booking the appointment you have to pay the fees. Next step; You visit the visa Application Center to submit your documents. Here you submit your Orignal Passport, so that they can paste your Visa into it. Then you track your Application. Later, you collect your passport on the date given by the VAC. Later, you find out if your Visa is cleared or not. When your Visa will be ready in VFS, you will receive a mail like this. it will be written that your Passport is ready for collection. After receiving the mail, collect your passport from the VFS office. We will talk about the top places to visit in Paris; Top Attractions; We will discuss the main attractions which bring tourists all around the world to Paris. 1. Eiffel tower, one of the 7 wonders, on the Second number, we have Sacre Coeur 3. Arc De Triomphe which has the famous Fashion Street; Champs- Elysees On the 4th number, we have "The Paris’s biggest Church " Notre Dame" on the 5th we have Louvre Museum which has the famous Mona Lisa Painting. 6th. Palace of Versailles. There are many other attractions, you can visit once you reach there. All the Paris attractions; as you can see on my screen. You can visit all these attractions in a single ticket. There’s no need to get separate ticket to visit all the attractions. Let’s see the attractions included in the Paris Pass. This pass has included around 80 attractions of Paris. Eifel tower, Hop on- Hop off Big Bus Service, Parc- Asterix, Louvre Museum, River cruise, Notre Dame, Wine Tasting, Arc de Triomphe, visit the tallest roof deck of Paris, Sacre Coure, Paris Aquarium, and many more such attractions are included in this pass. Let’s see how this Paris Pass Work, The first step is, to buy the Paris Pass, decide how many days you want it for. Paris pass is available for 2, 3, 4 and 6 days. After Buying this pass install ‘go city’ App After Logging your pass will be synced with your phone. Whenever you visit an attraction, open Paris Pass on your mobile, then you will be given an entry, If you have a Paris Pass for 4 or 6 days then you have to collect the Museum pass from one of the Go City Pickup locations Let’s check the plans of Paris Pass. There are 4 types of Paris Pass: 2,3,4, and 6-day Pass. The prices are shown on the screen, select any pass While checkout, select the dates for the pass. As you can see on my screen, select the date. After selecting the date, proceed with the payment. All the attractions included in the PARIS PASS are mentioned on the website of the Paris Pass. Select an attraction from the page, here you will get all the information about that particular attraction. You can also check how to reach there and hours of operation. After buying the Paris pass, download the Go city APP looks like this. After logging in you can check your available passes. on the available passes section. A QR Code will be generated, which will be the entry ticket to all the attractions. To visit the nearby places, click explore on the APP. then click view all attractions, You will get info about all the attractions on the app same as the website. On the App, you can see the exact map locations of the attractions. Click on view Map on the lower right corner. All the attractions on the maps look like this. Let’s talk about the Itinerary for Paris. We will be discussing the itinerary for 3 and 5 days. First, we will discuss itinerary for 3 days. With this Itinerary, you can visit most of the top attractions in 3 days. On the first day after reaching Paris, In the afternoon you will be visiting Notre Dame Cathedral. Notre Dame is Paris’s biggest Cathedral From there you will head to Pantheon, on the way, you will see 2 famous bridges, Pont Neuf Bridge, Paris’s oldest bridge and Second, is the love lock bridge famous for lovers across the world. After seeing this bridge, you will go to Pantheon It is a big Mausoleum and a Museum It will take 30 mins to tour this place. You can spend your 1st evening in Paris in Luxembourg Garden. after that, you will go to Luxembourg Palace. Later, you can enjoy your dinner in Latin Quarter. Latin Quarter is considered to be Paris’s biggest Party Hub. You can party and enjoy your dinner there. Day 2 itinerary: You will begin your day by visiting the Famous Eiffel Tower It may take 2-3 hours to tour Eiffel Tower. You will head to the nearby River Cruise. River Cruise will make you visit all the top attractions. Once you are done with the river cruise, go to Paris’s fashion street, Champs- Elysees Near Champs- Elysees you will find Arc De Triomphe After having lunch, spend your evening visiting the famous Louvre Museum. After seeing the famous Mona Lisa Portrait, You can visit Le Marais streets for dinner through Place de la Concorde circle. This part of East Paris is famous for falafel and Shawrama. Day 3 of your Paris itinerary is like this, You will begin your day by visiting Sacre Coeur. To go there you can book the famous Montmartre’s toy train or Petit Train. After that, you will have your lunch in Montmartre’s famous lanes. Later, you will spend your evening seeing the famous Cabaret show at Moulin Rouge. 3 Day itinerary of Paris is completed. Now we will discuss the 5-day itinerary of Paris. The 5-day Paris Itinerary looks like this, The first 3 days will be the same. on the 4th day, you can visit the famous Disneyland or Parc Asterix. These 2 are Paris’s famous amusement park. you can visit any of the two according to your wish. We suggest you to visit Disneyland for sure. It will take you a whole day to spend time in these amusement parks. Start your 5th day by visiting Palace de Versailles. This is one of the top attractions of Paris and takes a day to see it. This is how your 5 days in Paris were. To visit these places you must have a hotel nearby to these places. Here are the various options for hotels, You can find all types of hotels in Paris. The 5star hotel charges are around 400-500 Euros/ night. 5-star hotels are very expensive in Paris. If you want to book a budget friendly hotel for a family, you can get it for 100-150 Euros/night. If you want an even cheaper option, for students or solo travelers or are travelling with friends, you can easily find student hostels, homestay or Airbnb studios. it will cost around 40-50 Euros per night. These were different types of hotels in Paris. Now the question arises, which locality is best to book a hotel. Let’s visit the Paris Map again. As I said earlier Paris is divided into 6 zones. What we suggest, if you book your hotel in zone 1,2, or 3 then all the attractions will be easily accessible to you. If you get a hotel in the north side it will be a better option. You will find the main attractions of Paris in Central Paris. If your hotel is in central Paris, that will be the icing on the cake. Although Hotels in central Paris are comparatively expensive. If you decide on the area, where you want to book hotels in Paris then it will ease the process of your Hotel Bookings There are various Apps and websites to book hotels in Paris If you know the area, where do you want to book your hotel. You can click on any website like these Recommended Apps: Booking.com Booking.com App looks like this, Enter your Destination, Paris. Select your date and room details. We need 1 room for 1 adult, then we clicked on search. Booking.com came up with various options, the best option is St. Christopher’s INN Paris It is a hostel, which is perfect for 1 person. You can see the photos and location of this hostel on this App itself. You can also check the nearby hotels on the Map. Proceed by selecting the type of room. Add your details for the reservation. If you feel hotels are expensive, you can stay in hostels and homestays. You can use Airbnb App for budget stays. The UI of the Airbnb app looks like this. Open the App, Enter the Destination, in our case it’s Paris. After entering the destination, we select our preferred date. We enter the room details, for eg. we selected 1 room for 1 adult. Airbnb showed various staycations in different locations. For eg; If we select a place in Gare Du Nord Click on view details, We can see photos of the Airbnb, We can also reserve the place on the same page. Add your details, confirm them, and then proceed with the payment. One merit of the Airbnb App, if you are aware of the location it will be easier for you to book a homestay at cheap rates. If you have no idea of the location, you can go through the list suggested by AIRBNB It suggests cheap hostels and homestays. This is how you can book your room in Airbnb. We are done with the Hotel Bookings. Let’s move to the finance section and discuss the expenses of the Paris Trip. The expense sheet will look like this. The Return flight tickets will cost around 50000 INR If we consider a 3-Day Itinerary, Hotel expenses will be as follows; Luxury hotels – 50K INR, Normal – 20K INR and Hostels and Homestays- 12K INR. If you use an electric scooter, bike or Metro for intra-city travel The cost for 3 days will be around 3.5K INR. If you buy a Paris Pass to visit the attractions. The cost will be around 12000 INR. Food for 3 days will be around 16K per head. Apart from this if you buy souvenirs or buy gifts we can add 3k INR per person. So the total expense for a Paris trip The luxury section will cost around 1.35 Lakh- 1.40 Lakh INR, For Normal Tour- 104500, a budget-friendly trip to Paris will cost around 1 lakh INR. To book our stay we will suggest, booking.com, hostels.com, and Airbnb App. If you want to visit the other cities apart from Paris in France. you may need to book a train, We suggest you to use TGV Inout Pro App and Omio App. If you want to travel Intercity by booking a self-driving car, you need to use Avis App and for carpooling, Blah Blah car.
